How to Use your
Instructor's Administrative Control Application --
Getting Test Scores for a Class or Student

    Getting Test Scores:

If you have read this User's Guide in sequence, you already know how to obtain and manipulate certifiction testing scores for each section of your course. But in case you came here first, let's review the process. In fact, there are some features not yet discussed we will want to cover as well. First you want to make sure you have activated the section for which you wish to access certification testing scores (see topic Getting a Different Section"). Then you need to navigate to the Scores screen by using the "Get Scores" button at the far right of the services bar at the top of your application:

click on picture to go to a full-screen version

After you arrive at the Scores screen, use the "Get Scores for Section (your active section)" button to obtain a list of all students currently enrolled in the section you currently have active:

click on picture to go to a full-screen version

The "Data Manipulation" button at the upper right of the data field will allow you to alphabetize your listing as well as allowing you to manipulate scores in various ways that should be self-evident from the option descriptions. For example, you can change the order from "chapter sequence" to "descending score values" to make it easy to review low scores. You may want to do this, for example, in deciding if you wish to drop some number of low scores (and how many) for calculating an average (yet another option) across all testing you wish to count in your course grading. A very important button on the upper right is the "Save into File" button, which will export the data you see in the data field into an Excel-compatible spreadsheet file (i.e., a text file that is tab delimited). If you open Micorsoft Excel and use the "File" menu to "open" this file, it will import immediately for whatever types of additional manipulations you might wish to apply.
